Martir official named Zambo police director

MAYOR Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has announced the appointment of Senior Superintendent Joseph Thomas Martir as the new Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director.

Salazar said the designation of Martir as the ZCPO director was based on an order issued last week by the Philippine National Police headquarters.

She welcomed Martir's appointment saying the same was also based on the selection of the local government.

In fact, she said, Martir was introduced to President Rodrigo Duterte during the latter's visit to this city recently.

"With his appointment, we in the local government expect so much from the PNP to help in the fight against lawlessness," she said.

Martir was assigned as the officer-in-charge of the ZCPO on September 6, this year. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
