A MAN died, while another was injured when the motorcycle they were riding plunged into a ditch in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Monday, March 9.
The Dapitan City Police Station identified the fatality as Jayboy Elumbra, 21, who succumbed to severe head injury.
Wounded was June Steven Clarian, 20, who was admitted at the Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital.
The police said Elumbra was driving a motorcycle with Clarian as his back rider when they plunged into a ditch around 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the village of Sinonoc, Dapitan City.
Police said the two were drunk and traveling from the city proper to Sinonoc at the time of the incident.
The two were rushed to a hospital but the attending physician declared Elumbra dead on arrival. (VoxPop Zamboanga)
