Police arrest crime group member, fugitive

TWO persons, including a crime group member and one of the most wanted person, were arrested in separate law enforcement operations here in the Zamboanga Peninsula, the police said Saturday, June 9.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula, identified them as Ryan Sereno, 35, and Noel Dagaya.

Galvez said Sereno was arrested in an operation by way of service of warrant of arrest at 9:05 p.m. Thursday at Purok Matinahuron in Ignacio Garata village, Dinas, Zamboanga Del Sur.

She said Sereno has standing warrant of arrest for robbery with violence with no recommended bail issued by the court in San Miguel, this province.

The police officer said the Sereno was believed to have been involved in a series of robbery incidents in the municipality of Dinas in the same province.

Galvez said the suspect is has ties with the Anwar Ansang Group and Juvy Pitogo, who are alleged "contract killers" in the 1st district of Zamboanga Del Sur.

She said Dagaya was arrested in another police operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 5:30 p.m. Friday at Sitio Tiltilan in East Poblacion village, Manukan, Zamboanga Del Norte.

She said Dagaya is listed as the number 10 most wanted persons in Mankuan and has standing warrant of arrest for Direct Assault upon an Agent of a person in Authority with recommended P6,000 bail issued by the court of the same town. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
