THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula has initiated the conduct of stress debriefing management seminar to policemen deployed in quarantine checkpoints amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
Police Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said the stress debriefing seminar is in line with the best practice of regional police dubbed as "Salva Pensamiento" (saving the minds).
Quidilla said the objective of the project is to assess the psychological status of each personnel and instituting measures that would enable them to cope up with the stress and challenges they encounter during their tour of duty.
The top cop in the region initiated the conduct of the seminar to ensure the health and welfare of the personnel, especially the frontliners, given the risks of the present pandemic as they have direct exposure to the public, some of whom may be carriers of the virus.
Police Major Helen Galvez, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the stress debriefing seminar is being conducted at Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan that houses the regional police headquarters in Mercedes village, Zamboanga City.
The session is done every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in coordination with the pyschologist and other personnel of the Regional Health Service in Zamboanga Peninsula.
She said policemen undergo stress debriefing every after 14 days of duty or change of shift duty. (VoxPop Zamboanga)
