A RETIRED policeman was shot to death by a lone gunman in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, an official said Wednesday, March 11.
Police Captain Edwin Duco, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, identified the fatality as Edwin Solis, a retired policeman, who now works as chief security of a department store.
Duco said investigation showed Solis was buying a cigarette from a store in Sangali Village, when the suspect arrived and shot the victim.
The suspect who was clad in gray and a black baseball cap fled on foot toward Sitio Siguinan, also in Sangali Village.
Duco said Solis was rushed to the hospital but did not make it alive.
He said an in-depth probe is ongoing in a bid to unmask the identity of the suspect. (VoxPop Zamboanga)
