THE Persons with Disabilities Affairs Unit (PDAU) of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is conducting a three-day training on Republic Act (RA) 10754 otherwise known as an "Act Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of Persons with Disability (PWD)."
PDAU head Rose Ann Suarez said the training hopes to raise the level of awareness and the proper delivery of services by various agencies, institutions, and establishments, in relation to RA 10754.
Suarez said the participants of the training, from October 29 to 31, are the owners, managers and key personnel of known hotels, restaurants, department stores, groceries, bakers and pharmacies in this city—who will play a big role in the implementation of RA 10754.
The PDAU head said this is the third straight year the city government through the CSWDO has organized similar training for the benefit of the PWDs.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar on Tuesday appealed to the participants of the training to strictly comply with RA 10754.
Salazar has assured that the PWD sector, the real marginalized sector and considered as the poorest of the poor, is not left behind. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
