Zamboanga City holds 'Dia de Maga Guardia Forestal'

FOREST guards, foresters and rangers who protect Zamboanga City's forests and watersheds will be honored on Saturday, July 28, in a fitting event dubbed "Dia de Maga Guardia Forestal."

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the activity will be held at the Jardin Maria Clara in Pasonanca Park.

She said the environmental event is intended to recognize the bravery and hard work of forest guards, foresters and rangers who protect the city's vast forest and watershed.

The ceremony is organized by the United States Agency for International Development-Protect Wildlife in partnership with other agencies,

The activity is a public event for the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office- Zamboanga City, Office of City Environment and Natural Resources, Zamboanga City Water District and the Western Mindanao State University to recognize their long-serving forest rangers and enforcers of forestry laws.
