ZAMBOANGA City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar will spend her 52nd birthday on Friday, September 7, by rolling out the free service caravan "Dia del Alcalde" in City Hall.

The outreach program that covers basic city government services will be preceded by the first Friday mass in celebration of the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary or Mama Mary on Saturday, September 8.

A short program with song dance performances and other surprises in fitting celebration of the mayor's birthday, will be held at the City Hall frontage after the mass.

The Dia del Alcalde will benefit city government employees and City Hall clients.

Offices that will roll out services will include the City Health Office (CHO), City Agriculturist Office, City Veterinary Office, City Civil Registrar among others to include free haircut and free eye glasses and consultation courtesy of Task Force Zamboanga and private organizations.

Instead of lavish parties, the mayor opts to celebrate her birthday quietly and simply with the people with whom she is mandated to serve. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
