

THE Department of Health (DOH) announced that the Zamboanga City has recorded its 60th case of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The DOH said the 60th confirmed case was a 61-year-old female inmate who was detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-administered Zamboanga City Reformatory Center (ZCRC).
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, chairperson of the local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Covid-19, said Monday, May 4, that the patient died due to community-acquired pneumonia, diabetes mellitus type 2 uncontrolled, and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state last April 30 at the Mindanao Central Sanitarium and General Hospital (MCSGH).
Salazar said the patient, locally known as ZC60, was rushed to the MCSGH on April 30 due to breathing difficulty and was swabbed before she died on the same day.
Salazar said the patient's death was suspected to be Covid-related and the results confirming her case arrived in the afternoon of May 3. (VoxPop Zamboanga)
