Zamboanga LGU donates P3M to Covid-19 facility

THE local government of Zamboanga City has donated P3 million to the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) as support for the operation of the public hospital amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) crisis.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar handed over on Tuesday, the P3 million check to Dr. Emilia Monicimpo, Department of Health (DOH) regional director, and the the concurrent chief of ZCMC.

Salazar said the fund is the support of City Government to the ZCMC, a DOH-retained hospital, for the operation of its Covid-19 facility.

The out-patient department of the ZCMC was converted into a Covid-19 referral facility when the dreaded disease spread into this city.

The Covid-19 referral facility has started to operate April 6. (VoxPop Zamboanga)
