MAYOR Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has recognized and honored 74 villages that have been consistently rated as ideal, the highest award in the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) functionality.
The recognition rites was held Wednesday, December 18, at the Centro Latino Convention Hall of the Paseo del Mar.
Facilitated by the Zamboanga City Council for the Protection of Children in collaboration with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the event is a yearly undertaking aimed to recognize villages that ensure the implementation of the rights of the children on protection, survival, development and participation.
Salazar hailed the ideal BCPCs as she assured her administration's continuous efforts to protect the rights and welfare of children, the VIPs of Zamboanga.
This, she said, is in line with her consistent battle cry: "Let's make our children's future a reality today." (VoxPop Zamboanga)
